Modern Slavery Statement
Removal Van Brixton Modern Slavery Statement
Removal Van Brixton is committed to conducting all aspects of our business in a manner that respects human rights and safeguards the dignity and wellbeing of every individual. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out the steps we take to prevent modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and exploitation within our operations and supply chains.
Our Zero-Tolerance Approach
We operate a clear and unequivocal zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We do not accept, support or condone any form of forced, bonded or involuntary labour, or any practices that exploit vulnerable people. This applies to all employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers and any other business partners who work with or on behalf of Removal Van Brixton.
All working relationships must be based on freely chosen employment, fair treatment and respect. We require our people and partners to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights legislation, and to uphold standards that meet or exceed legal requirements.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Removal Van Brixton provides removal, relocation and associated services. Our supply chains include, but are not limited to, vehicle providers, fuel and equipment suppliers, storage facilities, uniform and packaging suppliers, maintenance contractors, recruitment agencies and cleaning and facility services.
We recognise that the risk of modern slavery can exist at different points within these supply chains. We therefore seek to work with reputable partners who share our values, and we expect each of them to apply robust controls to prevent exploitation in their own operations and supply networks.
Supplier Standards and Audits
We are progressively strengthening our due diligence processes to identify, assess and address the risk of modern slavery. New and existing key suppliers are required to confirm that they do not engage in, or tolerate, modern slavery or human trafficking, and that they have appropriate measures in place to prevent such practices.
Where proportionate to the size and risk profile of the relationship, we may conduct desk-based reviews, request supporting documentation, or carry out on-site visits and audits. These checks may include reviewing employment practices, recruitment methods, payment of wages, working hours, accommodation arrangements and the use of labour intermediaries.
If a supplier is unwilling or unable to meet our expectations, we will work with them to improve standards where possible. Where improvement is not forthcoming, or serious concerns remain, we reserve the right to suspend or terminate the relationship.
Employee Awareness and Reporting Channels
All employees are expected to act with integrity and to help us uphold our commitment to combating modern slavery. We provide guidance on recognising signs of exploitation, such as restriction of movement, retention of identity documents, intimidation, or evidence of debt bondage.
We maintain internal reporting channels through which employees, agency workers, contractors and other stakeholders can raise concerns about suspected modern slavery or unethical behaviour within our business or supply chains. Reports can be made confidentially to line managers or senior management, without fear of retaliation or detrimental treatment.
Every report will be taken seriously, promptly reviewed and, where appropriate, investigated. If we identify actual or suspected modern slavery, we will act quickly to protect affected individuals, work with relevant authorities where necessary, and take corrective action, which may include ending relationships with those responsible.
Continuous Improvement and Annual Review
We recognise that combating modern slavery is an ongoing responsibility that requires continued vigilance and improvement. We are committed to reviewing our policies, procedures and risk assessment processes on a regular basis to ensure they remain robust and effective.
This Modern Slavery Statement is reviewed at least once every year by our senior management team. As part of the annual review, we consider changes in our operations, regulatory developments, emerging best practice, feedback from stakeholders and any incidents or concerns raised during the year.
Where opportunities for improvement are identified, we will update our procedures, enhance training and awareness, refine our supplier due diligence, and strengthen our monitoring and audit activities. Our objective is to continually reduce the risk of modern slavery within our business and to encourage higher standards across the wider sector in which we operate.
This statement reflects the position of Removal Van Brixton for the current financial year and has been approved by our senior management team.
